is it hot here or what? kinda crazy, how really real that whole global warming thing is ... anyway, it's been a while since i've updated and i still haven't got much to say! the album is ... crawling along at a nice slow clip. i've got some things accomplished and other things are dangling like big carrots out in front of me. "amelia flies" will be the first song finished and i expect to be posting that sometime in the next month. it's a good goal. other than that, i'm still doing physical therapy on my thumb and it's getting better, although part of me thinks it'll never be the same, ever, period. nevertheless! i'm booking shows for the fall and should be playing 2-3 per month if all goes well. if you're around, check out the 8/3 show at the leaf & bean downtown, and also come 'round for my gallery opening at TART in the emerson for the august 10 Art Walk. hope you're all hanging in there and enjoying the summer! be well -- /abby

heya -- well, i broke my thumb a week or so ago, and this means i've had to cancel the 5/4 show at the leaf & bean. bummer! the good news is that despite my hand being in a cast i had a great trip to atlanta last weekend to get some stuff recorded. and i'm headed over to billings this weekend to do even more. but this time next week i should have some samples to post, so look for those. aiiiiight, peace --

just letting you all know that i'll be playing the singer/songwriter showcase @ the owl lounge in livingston on wednesday april 11. the evening begins at 9pm. Eight performers will play 2 original songs each, and judges will choose 4 to come back for a 3rd song. the winner of the evening joins other winners for a final showdown on wednesday, may 9. so ... if you're in livingston or you know someone who is, send them down to cheer me on!

hi folks -- well, after a couple of months off, i am definitely ready to hit the stages again! i survived the marathon and actually had a great time, but now i'm excited to have some time to focus on music. i've got two shows coming up in february -- 2/16 at the leaf & bean, and 2/23 at wild joe's. plus, i've booked some time in the studio next week, so i'll be laying down some tracks for this album that i'm trying to make, and posting sneak previews as i can. stay tuned -- 2007 should be a pretty exciting year. hope to see you 'round!

i've been so bad about updating .... argh! there's a new show journal up. and some good news: i'm playing bluegrass on the lawn on september 10 at the museum of the rockies with stormy creek. i am not a bluegrass musician, but they seem to think that folk is close enough. so, it's a great opportunity for me -- lots of people and a chance to talk to some other local musicians. so hooray for that. it's from 3-6 on september 9 at the museum, if you're around ..... other than that, twoshows coming up this weekend. peace /abby

so let's see. i finally got around to doing the show journal from the last wild joe's show and so that's on the journal page. i've been super busy and i s'pose that's good, but it's making me crazy. been working on stuff for the solo album and am enjoying some of the potential partnerships i'm uncovering. i just looked at my schedule and realized i've got a billion shows booked for the summer -- so come to one or two of them, heh? also, i'll be playing at eddie's attic in decatur, ga, with one of my all-time favorite bands, weaklazyliar. that's not until october, so you've got loads of time to save up for the ticket to atlanta. ;) but seriously, i'm pretty psyched that i get to share a weaklazystage!

i've got a show booked at borders on friday, february 24, from 5:00-6:30 or so. it's my first time playing there, so if you can come and bring everyone you know, i'd really appreciate it! don't worry, i'll remind you closer to the date.
i've also talked with them about doing some kind of "writers in the round" thing where an audience could talk with several local songwriters about the creative process, etc., so stay tuned for information on that. :D

new year, new site, new stuff. i'll be playing shows wherever i can (perhaps as far and away as utah, idaho and washington state) and trying to make a record. i've also asked my friend wayne to start playing with me -- he'll add bass, dulcimer, harmonica, vocals and guitar, and he rocks! also known as the "boondoggler," wayne has a steady solo career of his own and writes a monthly article on music for the bozone. we'll be holed up trying to arrange some stuff, and he'll be playing with me as he can. hooray for wayne!
